There Is Lots Of Excitement For This Summers Trout Festival

The Trout Festival held their monthly meeting on Wednesday at the Creighton Rec Office and there is a lot of optimism heading into this year’s events.

President Dianne Russell chaired the meeting and introduced the new secretary Kelsey Anderson.

The official kick off for the festival will be on June the 1st for the month long fishing derby which will include opportunities to fish on both the Manitoba and Saskatchewan side. They will be applying for the fishing licenses in February.

The midway will take place the first weekend in June with the majority of the rest of the events happening in conjunction around July the 1st.

A new group of volunteers has stepped up to run the Fish Fry and it will look a little bit different this year. It will take place June the 28th and will be a street party theme which will take place at the Chicken Chef parking lot with live music and a DJ.

The parade will return on Canada Day  and will be organized by the Town Of Creighton and the theme this year will be Community Spirit and The Water And The Wild.

Other events that are confirmed include Disc Golf, the Regatta, Community Barbecue, Water and the Wild Markets and Yoga In The Park. There is also talk about trying to bring in some new fresh entertainment this year.
