Support Is Being Shown For Saskatchewan Teachers

The Saskatchewan Teachers Association held their second provincial strike yesterday which included the teachers from Creighton School.

Kirsten Fristch, the President of the local Teachers Association is very happy with the support they have received locally and across the province.

"  So locally we have received a lot of support including the local Steelworkers 9338  and the Flin Flon Teachers Association who came  out to  our picket line yesterday. They were  great and we had lots of honking from the public and we even had students dropping off coffee for us and we had a lot of encouragement from people in our community. I think they understand  what teachers want is better support and better conditions in classrooms which omly benefits the students in our comunity and across the province. Province wide we had 35 strike locations  with lots of support from labour organizations, parents and grandparents, students and lots of business's.

Fristch went on to say that they will now wait to hear from Jeremy Cockrill the Education Minister to see if they can get back to the bargaining table and have their needs met.
