The annual Lions Journey For Sight snowmobile ride  which has been going for over 30 years and is run province wide was unfortunately cancelled this year due to a  lack of snow. The event usually kicks off in Flin Flon in the middle of January and makes it’s way down south stopping in various communities and winding up in Brandon.

Flin Flon Lion member Andy Wasylciw tells us even though the ride isn’t happening this year you can still donate to the cause. " What we are doing is raffling off a snowmobile and there are still a few tickets available, you can contact any Lions member in the area for a ticket. Tickets are $5.00 each and we still have some tickets left. By donating to this cause the money go's toward the Lions Eye Foundation to help pay for surgeries for people that can't afford it and that is what ir's all about."

This event has raised millions of dollars for the Lions Eye Bank throughout the years and look forward to the event returning next year. The draw for the snowmobile will take place in Birtle in the middle of February at the Lions Convention.
