The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation has declared a province wide teacher’s strike for this Tuesday January the 16th which will impact services for the entire day.
Creighton Director of Education, Steve Lytwyn explains how this will affect Creighton school.
" All of our teachers here at Creighton school are members of STF , so they will be observing the ruling from Saskatchewan teachers . So that means they will mot be coming to school on Tuesday, they will be participating in a province wide strike. For our other non STF employees , we do have out of scope employees that are non-unionized and other unions are represented with the Steelworkers which include the EA'S, Clerical and Maintenence. They will be at work that day doing other duties. We hope the reconciliation process between the STF and the provinve will be resolved quickly. The most important thing for us here is student safety and student learning."
Lytwyn also said they will continue with ongoing communication through e-mails via the school messenger, updates on the school and division websites and the schools facebook account.
