Friendship Centre's Cold Weather Shelter Is Open

As temperatures continue to get colder, the Flin Flon Friendship Centre’s Cold Weather Shelter will be open over night. Amanda Fleury the Friendship Centre’s Home Project Co-ordinator explains how the shelter will operate.

 

" The cold weather shelter is run out of the Flin Flon Friendship Centre and the doors will open up at 10pm. It is open to anyone who needs a safe warm place to come. If you don't want to stay, you don't have to, you can just come and have someting to eat and warm up. It is a place where you can come and feel safe."

 

The shelter is also open during the day, 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and bag lunches will be supplied on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They are in need of donations including winter coats, ski pants, socks, blankets, snacks like fruit, granola bars, hot chocolate and bottled water.
