The Flin Flon Friendship Centre is holding their 30th annual Christmas Gift Program to make sure that every kid in Flin Flon and area gets a gift this Christmas despite the circumstances.
This past Saturday the Friendship Centre was at the Red Apple collecting gifts on behalf of the program and Program Co-ordinator Joe Anne Pelletier says the response was very strong.
" So Red Apple partnered up with the Friendship Center this year and they have done it in previous years and they call it Fill The Sleigh Day. All store wide 5 percent of the purchases get donated to the Friendship Center's Gift Program. I came here today with intentions to bring awareness to the program and we brought Santa in and we have quite a few kids. We even had some adults get their pictures taken and getting into the Christmas spirit."
Pelletier went on to say that 360 kids have been registered for the gift program this year and there is still one more week to get kids registered.
