The Trout Festival Had A Great Year

The Trout Festival held their AGM on Wednesday afternoon at the Creighton Recreation and Tourism Centre.

Acting President Dianne Russell chaired the meeting and talked about the success of the festival the past year and mentioned how important it is to continue to build on it’s growth. She also talked about how important it has been to collaborate with the City Of Flin Flon, Town Of Creighton and Village of Denare Beach.

Among the highlights was the success of the Fishing Derby, Disc Golf, Midway , Community Barbecue, Parade and Beaver Lake Day and Canada Day in Creighton. They are trying to get a 30 something group to run next summer’s fish fry and there is some talk it may be moved to the rotary wheel.

Financially the festival was successful and it was reported that the great attendance to events, grants and sponsorships helped the Trout Festival break even.

A dock and signage has been purchased and will be put up in early june around Ross Lake.

The executive includes Dianne Russell acting President, Lindsay Shirran acting Vice, Elly Spencer Treasurer and Nikki Harkin acting Secretary.
