It was well attended with over 100 people in attendance and there were a total of 27 service pins handed out for 5 years of service,  16 ten year pins, 11 fifteen years pins, 10 for 20 years, 9 for 25 , 9 for 30, 3 for 35, 4 for 40, 4 for 45 and for the first time in the history of the club , 10 pins handed out for 50 years of service. President Bob Penner says it is very important to recognize all these long time members.

" I think that presenting our awards to our members especially the ones that have 50 years into the Legion , shows dedication to the cause and support that they give for the veterans. The Legion executive that I presented medals to have served one or two terms on the executive and this is just  recognition for their service."

The local branch also handed out medals of service to Mark and Kelsey Burford of the Salvation Army for being the Legion Padres,  Trudy Burton and Wenda Eplen the Secretaries, Colin McPhee, Ted Highfield and Margaret Highfield from the Executive. Officers Medals were presented to Perry Burton for Second Vice and Art Hughes for First Vice.
