Friendship Centre Is Looking For Donations For Shelter Program

As it starts to cool off and with winter approaching the Flin Flon Friendship Centre is working on their shelter program to make sure the less fortunate in our community not only have a safe place to stay but have adequate winter clothing to stay warm.

Amanda Fleury who is coordinating the project lets us know how you can help out. " The cold weather shelter program is a warm safe spot for community members to come and warm up if they need a place to stay for the night. It is run through the friendship centre and we have kots set up, blankets and pillows. What we need from the community is donations of warm winter wear and food donations because we do provide food including soup, snacks and something hot to drink. We have a supply of mitts, touques and jackets which is available for them to take when they leave for the night."

You can drop off any clothing donations to the centre Monday to Friday 9 to 5,  and you can also call Amanda and she will arrange to come pick up items if you can’t make it down to the centre. If you would like to make a cash donation they will give you a charitable receipt.
