At their meeting last night Flin Flon City Council gave first reading to a bylaw to regulate the condition of vacant buildings and prevent the boarding up of derelict buildings in the community.  Council noted this is a step to start getting rid of derelict buildings.  Administrator Mark Kolt says the number of derelict buildings is unknown at this time as there will always be places that are just above the law but there are many at the point where they will be in trouble.

Council received the Fire Chiefs report for August indicating 13 fire calls during the month.
