On September 20, 2023, at 6:10 am, Cross Lake RCMP received a report of a hit and run collision that had occurred earlier that morning at 12:30 am, in the community.

The investigation has determined that at approximately 12:30 am, two adults were walking on the main road, near Family Foods, when a vehicle leaving the parking lot of the Cross Lake Inn, struck the two adults and fled the scene.

Both victims were taken to hospital. The 59-year-old female suffered serious injuries and was transported out of the community for treatment. The 59-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Winnipeg.

RCMP have obtained surveillance video of a female and are hoping to identify her as she may have information on the incident.
