The Flin Flon Arts Council held their AGM this past Thursday at the Flin Flon Community Hall with different board members presenting reports.
New President Margot Gray greeted everyone and introduced Alla Bodreaux who is the new Executive Director and has a background in teaching, pharmaceutical and journalism. Gray said she is excited to be the new president and is looking forward to another year ahead.
" I think it has gone very well, I knew Sherry was moving so I knew it was going to be a possibility that I was taking over. I am really excited because we are moving into so many changes and we are growing. With my background in policy in procedures and governence I think this is a good time to expand that for the Arts ouncil."
Among the highlights is the group Imaginorthern who is helping expand the arts right across the North including The Pas. OCN,Thompson,Churchill and Snow Lake received a grant for $250,000.00 which would be the biggest grant they have ever received. Krista Lemke and Kristy Janvier continue to make great strides with this project.
Former Executive Director Crystal Kolt also spoke and was excited about the start of Culture Days which will have over 50 events to enjoy in the Flin Flon area for the next three weeks.
