Great Turn Out At City Hall Last Night

 

Katy Anderson led a delegation at last night’s City Council meeting regarding personal care home beds for Northern  Manitoba. The Provincial government has allocated 15 million dollars for the different health regions but has left the North out.

 

Anderson will get a letter of support from the city and will contact local leaders, MLA’S and put together a petition in different centers across the North to make sure all of Northern Manitoba’s voices are heard.

 

Councillor Steven Lytwin commented that the Witness Blanket exhibit which just left City Hall was able to attract 1,067 visitors and 45 volunteers put in over 200 hours of volunteer time.  A big thanks to the sponsors the Flin Flon School Division, Hudbay and the City Of Flin Flon.

 

It was also reported that the City has received grants for an upgrade at the Flin Flon Public Library and a boiler upgrade at the Whitney Forum. A resolution was also passed to approve Mayor Fontaine and CEO Lynn Brown to attend the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Northern Region meeting in Prince Albert.
