The 32^nd annual Cranberry Trout Challenge is now just a few weeks away and will take place on Lake Athapap on August the 5^th and 6^th. They have increased the first place prize to $6,500.00 this year and the committee’s Wade Roberts explains there are a lot of different  events happening on the weekend.

" Our first prize is guaranteed and thanks to our sponsors they have made this possible. We are working with some local people here including the Viking Lodge on bringing an Elvis impersonater to the event. He will be doing a live show on Saturday and this will be free. We are hoping everybody can come out and enjoy the show and the derby."

Other events happening on the weekend will be the Boat Parade, Horseshoe Competition, Beer Garden and Concession. You  can enter your boat of two for $200.00 entry fee by going on the fishdonkey app. Information is also available on the Cranberry Trout Challenge facebook page.
