Lots Of Floats Are Expected For Canada Day Parade

The Canada Day Parade will take place this Saturday at 11am sharp and start at CFAR  before making it’s way through Flin Flon and ending in Creighton.

Lindsay Shirran, the Creighton Rec Director says they have over 30 floats entered and wants to remind you about  proper protocol while the parade is happening. " We have 33 registered floats this year which doesn't include our emergency services such as the police and fire department, so that is a really good turn out. We just ask those that are registered and plan on to participate in the parade to be down by the Green street area by CFAR down towards the Zoo. We will extend up Green street and we will start the parade at 11am. We will carry on the parade route to Creighton and ending at the Hooter. I just kindly ask that people be respectful of the parade route, no cutting in and no passing. Just be patient and respectful and just wait."

The theme this year, is the Water And The Wild and if you are looking to hand out treats, you need to hand them to people as they can not be thrown from the floats. The route is as follows, Start at CFAR, over to Third Ave, then off to Callinan, to First Ave, to Flin Flon’s Main street then down the Creighton Freeway turning onto Creighton Main and ending at the Hooter.
