City Of Flin Flon To Honor Kopper Queens

The City Of Flin Flon held their regular meeting last night at Council Chambers.

The evening began with Deb Odegaard making a presentation on behalf of the Flin Flon Recycling Centre on bringing community composting to Flin Flon. In her presentation, Odegaard pointed out that composting would reduce pressure on the landfill and provide a product that can be used in our community for parks and community gardens.

The City also passed some resolutions including sharing the cost for the Flowers On Main Street Project with Flin Flon Neighborhood Revitalization and Hudbay.  The City has also entered into an agreement with Flin Flon and District Environment Council on maintenance at the Flin Flon Landfill between July the 1st of 2023 and December the 31st of 2023.

Mayor George Fontaine has also declared June the 26th as Kopper Queens day. The Queens will be recognized for their historic athletic season where they won a Bronze at Soccer Provincials, Silver at Volleyball Provincials and Silver at Basketball Provincials.
