Salvation Army Lieutenant Mark Burford reports they had a successful Christmas kettle and hamper program in the Flin Flon area……

“We did 176 Christmas hampers which supports the communities of Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach, Cranberry Portage and Cold Lake-Sherridon. One of the new things we instituted this year was the extra large Christmas hamper which helps support some of the larger families that are in need this year.  And overall in terms of money raised for the Flin Flon Salvation Army we raised over 40 thousand dollars.  We raised $40,708.37.  On the kettles we raised $26,809.37 and through our mail out campaign we received $13,899 even.”

Lieutenant Burford added a big part of their success was due to the community and their volunteers and they are very grateful for the support they received this year.
