November Was a Fairly Quiet Month for the Flin Flon Fire Department.

Flin Flon City Council accepted the Fire Chiefs report for November at their meeting Tuesday night indicating four calls during the month. There were two calls to motor vehicle collisions.  On the 8th they were called to Channing Drive and Third Avenue where a vehicle had struck another vehicle and both were on the train tracks.  Crews responded and assisted with traffic control.  They were able to separate and remove the vehicles from the train tracks and left the scene in control of the RCMP.  On the 17th they were called to an accident on Main Street.  They found the two vehicles with minor damage and assisted with patients to the ambulance.

During the month they also received two calls to assist EMS with patient removal.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting Council was advised the Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization will be holding nine Municipal Emergency Workshops across the province with one in Flin Flon January 19th to be attended by local authority leadership, emergency management program staff and all personnel that are expected to play a role in local authority emergency management in order to enhance resiliency in municipal emergency management programs.  City Council will be represented at the workshop.
