Operation Red Nose Saw Fewer People Getting a Ride Home This Holiday Season.

Operation Red Nose has wrapped up another holiday season of getting people and their vehicles home safely.  The Rotary Club’s Committee Chair Ted Hewitt says New Years Eve saw 14 rides with volunteers from the Rotary Club and other community members. Overall he reports this past Red Nose season has pluses and minuses……

“The pluses were great advertising support from CFAR, financial donations from local businesses, volunteer support from area organizations, free lunches for volunteers from area food establishments and gas certificates from local gas stations.  The minuses were a lack of use of the service, less than half of ridership in previous years.  The Rotary Club will be reviewing this issue and will have an improved plan to increase ridership for Red Nose service next December.  Operation Red Nose is a great service for our community in keeping our roads safe and supporting activities for children.”

Hewitt added his thanks to all who supported the service this year.
