On September 7th last year the Flin Flon RCMP Detachment Commander initiated an investigation when an allegation surfaced that a male prisoner had been mishandled by one of the detachment officers on August 30th.  Once the investigation was completed the finding were forwarded to Manitoba Justice for review by a Crown Attorney.

This past Monday based on recommendations from Manitoba Justice Constable Jamie O’Brien was charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon. He will appear in court in Flin Flon on October 3rd.

Constable O’Brien has been suspended with pay while the internal RCMP investigation is ongoing.
