Improper disposal of garbage was brought to Flin Flon City Council attention

Council received a letter from Fawn Brown expressing concerns about the amount of garbage being dumped along the old number ten highway as well as in plenty of other places near town.  She says since there have been fees to access the local dump the amount of garbage people are leaving in the bush has dramatically risen.  Brown asked Council to reconsider the fees to access the dump.

Councilor Bill Hanson says there has been garbage dumped along the old highway and in the bush long before the tipping fees came into effect at the landfill.  He did present a change in those fees that was approved by Council. They dropped the 25 dollar construction fee for vehicles under one ton so people hauling those kinds of material will only pay the regular fee of ten dollars for vehicles under one ton.  The remaining fees for larger vehicles stay the same.
