Some young workers in Creighton and Denare Beach need a certificate to work

As Saskatchewan youth begin looking for summer employment those 14 and 15 years old are reminded they must complete the province’s Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course in order to work.  The course teaches youth about their rights and responsibilities related to health, safety and labor standards in the province.

The course can be taken on line. (at www.lrws.gov.sk.ca/ywrcc.) You can find the online address by going to flinflononline.com, local news and click on Sask young workers. All 14 and 15 year olds must also have consent from their parents or guardian in order to work.

Since the 2010 launch of the online certificate course over 23 thousand Saskatchewan youth have completed the course.
