Candidates for the Upcoming Election Were Highlighted at the School Board Meeting.

Flin Flon School Division Board Chair Leslie Fernandes reported this past Tuesday as they near the end of the school year a reminder that this is municipal election year and there will be a new Board in the fall.  She encourages anyone interested in running for School Trustee to seek out answers to your questions either from any current Board member or the Manitoba School Board website.  She said it’s important that each community is represented by the people it serves.

Last year School Boards across the province faced challenges with Bill 64 but the communities spoke up and let the government know that School Boards are a valued and important part of public education.

The Board also made a motion to accept the promissory note from the provincial government in the amount of 371 thousand dollars for Hapnot roadway improvements and Queens Park track and field repairs which are expected to be complete by the start of school in the fall.
