Hudbay Has Seen Improved Results Over the Last Quarter.

President Peter Kukielski reported in their first quarter of 2022 Hudbay has net earnings of 63.8 million dollars compared to a net loss of 10.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2021. He explains they maintained steady operations during the first quarter despite being faced with a number of external challenges including COVID related absenteeism, extreme weather conditions and inflationary cost pressures.  He says this was testament to their effective risk management systems and focus on operating efficiencies and as a result they have reaffirmed their full year production and cost guidance for 2022.

Kukielski added they have seen strong performance from the New Britannia mill in Manitoba, they are on track to mine the significantly higher grades in Peru later this year and they look forward to continuing to advance their world class project pipeline including the release of a robust Preliminary Economic Assessment on their Copper World project in Arizona in the second quarter.
