Structure Fires Dominated Fire Calls Last Month.

At their meeting last week Flin Flon City Council received the Fire Chiefs report for November indicating six incidents.  One was a call to assist EMS on the 24th.

On November 4th they were called to a strong smell of melted electrical on Hemlock Drive where crews were able to track it down to improper light bulbs being used.  On the 12th they were called to a stove fire on Hapnot Street where crews were able to quickly contain the fire.  On the 19th they were called to assist at a motor vehicle collision on Highway Ten south of Cranberry Portage where two semi trucks had collided.  They used the Jaws of Life to cut and remove debris to free one of the drivers.  On the 20th they were called to what was found to be a false alarm on Hapnot Street and on the 28th they responded to a fire call on First Avenue and found smoke coming out the front door. They found a fire on the stove that was quickly extinguished and the home was cleared of smoke.  The total fire loss for the month is estimated at 10 thousand dollars.
