Case Counts Continue to go Up In Winnipeg While More Saskatchewan People Can Get Booster Shots.

Manitoba public health reported 218 new cases of COVID -19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 6.6 percent.  Of the new cases 108 are in Winnipeg with much lower numbers in other regions including 34 in Northern health where there are 353 active cases. Of the total 70,551 identified cases 1753 are active, 67,439 people have recovered and 139 are in hospital with 33 in intensive care.

             

The Saskatchewan government has announced effective Monday all individuals 18 and over will be eligible for a booster shot three months out from their second dose.  Saskatchewan health reported 55 new cases bringing the seven day average for new cases to 55.  Of the total 82,015 identified cases 544 are active, 80,530 have recovered and 106 are in hospital. Far Northeast Two again reports no new cases. There are five confirmed cases of Omicron in the province all linked to international travelers who are quarantining.
