Manitoba public health reported 206 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 6.2 percent.  Of the new cases 78 are in Winnipeg and 73 in Southern health with lower numbers in other regions including 13 in Northern health where there are 404 active cases.  Of the total 70,340 identified cases in the province 1779 are active, 67,204 people have recovered and 139 are in hospital with 34 in intensive care. One new case of the Omicron variant has been identified bring the total to six confirmed.

Saskatchewan health reported 62 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 56.  Of the total 81,961 confirmed cases 538 are active, 80,482 people have recovered and 105 are in hospital. Far Northeast Two again reported no new cases and no cases are active.  The final COVID patient receiving care in Ontario from the 27 transferred returned to Saskatchewan this week.
