Education Minister Cliff Cullen has announced a new pilot program that will support engagement with elders and knowledge keepers in eleven school divisions including Flin Flon.  He says this will promote the inclusion of First Nations, Metis and Inuit histories, culture, traditional values, contemporary lifestyles and traditional knowledge in the provincial curricula creating space  for our children to understand and celebrate the rich histories of Indigenous people in Manitoba. The Elders and knowledge keepers will provide mentorship for groups of various sizes on traditional teachings and students will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about cultural teachings, experiences and Indigenous languages.
