Recovered Cases in Manitoba are Approaching 67 Thousand While New Cases Remain Low in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 478 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified since Friday bringing the five day test positivity rate to 5.7 percent.  Of the new cases 160 were in Winnipeg region, 120 in Southern health and 118 in Northern health with lower numbers in other regions. Northern health has 394 active cases.  Of the total 69,979 confirmed cases 17 hundred are active, 66, 996 people have recovered and 142 are in hospital with 34 in intensive care.  No new cases of the Omicron variant were identified with a total of five confirmed. They also report 34.1 percent of children 5 to 11 have received their first dose of vaccine.

             

Saskatchewan health reported 149 new cases since Friday bringing the seven day average of new cases to 54.  Of the 81,852 total identified cases 568 are active, 80,347 people have recovered and 110 are in hospital.  Far North East Two reports no new cases with only four cases reported as active.  In Saskatchewan just under 845 thousand people are now fully vaccinated.
