Every winter RCMP officers are called to scenes where snowmobilers have been badly injured or have lost their lives.  They report this past month alone two lives have already been lost on snowmobiles in Manitoba and in 2020 eight Manitobans died in snowmobile collisions.

The RCMP remind you to know your abilities and ride within your limits, always check the weather conditions before you leave, always ride in groups and let people know where you’re going, always wear protective clothing including a helmet, gloves and eye protection, ride sober and if you are crossing a body of water be cautious of ice thickness, never ride in single file and wear a life jacket over your outer clothing.   The RCMP note they want everyone to ride safely while enjoying the outdoors so they make it home safely to their families.
