Manitoba public health reported 130 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 4.2 percent.  Of the new cases 60 are in Northern health, 25 in Winnipeg and 33 in Southern health with lower numbers in the other regions.  Of the total 63,099 confirmed cases 1121 are active, 60,738 people have recovered and 83 are in hospital with 22 in intensive care.  Manitoba is expanding recommendations for third doses for the COVID-19 vaccine to include residents of congregate elderly persons housing including personal care homes and assisted living.

Saskatchewan health reported 223 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 235. Of the total 76,830 reported cases 2440 are active, 73,558 people have recovered and 271 are in hospital.  There are no new cases reported in Far North East Two with 17 cases reported as active.
