The Economic Developers Association of Manitoba has announced their fifth annual Manitoba Economic Development Awards. These awards recognize excellence in Economic Development across the province. Among those nominated is Flin Flon’s Uptown Emporium and the Flin Flon Arts Council’s Crystal Kolt says it’s an honor to be nominated. She explains it’s for the Uptown Emporium which is such a new project for northern Manitoba and they’re just really excited about the possibilities that the Uptown Emporium can provide for northern artisans and artists and they’re really excited to be recognized for what they’re trying to do and for having received this nomination.
The awards recognize a municipality, CDC, town, group or committee that has undertaken a project or activity in the last eighteen months that has or will have significant and long term economic effect.
The awards will be presented during a fall Forum November 17th to 19th in Virden.
