Confirmed Cases Approach 63 Thousand in Manitoba While Active Cases Drop Below Three Thousand in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 464 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified since Friday bringing the five day test positivity rate to 3.9 percent.  Of the new cases 180 are in Southern health, 129 in Winnipeg region and 81 in Northern health with lower numbers in other regions.  The Northern region has 395 active cases and health officials are working with communities in the northeast with higher case counts..  Of the 62,907 confirmed cases 1071 are active, 60,500 people have recovered and 83 are in hospital with 20 in intensive care.

             

Saskatchewan health reported 170 new cases this afternoon bringing the seven day average of new cases to 259.  Of the total 76,481 confirmed cases 2822 are active, 72,842 people have recovered and 293 are in hospital.  Far North East Two reported no new cases and 26 active cases.

             

Premier Scott Moe refuses to put stronger public health orders in place as it would be unfair to the majority of residents who are vaccinated.
