Vaccines Could Soon Be Available for Young People in Manitoba.

The Medical Lead for the Vaccine Implementation Task Force Dr. Joss Reimer says Pfizer has requested Health Canada approval for their vaccine for children for ages 5 to 11. She explains this is a really important development for Manitobans because achieving higher vaccination rates in both adults and children is key to controlling the speed of the virus and ending the crisis phase of the pandemic in Manitoba and protecting the mental health of children by keeping schools open and ensuring that kids can participate in all their normal activities.

Reimer adds the vaccine works well even in children.  She says while still waiting for approval they are preparing to start the vaccines around the end of November.
