New Cases Are Pretty Well Divided in Regions of Manitoba While Reported Cases Top 70 Thousand in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 132 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day tests positivity rate to 3.4 percent.  Of the new cases 37 were in the Northern region where 212 cases are active, 33 in Southern health, 28 in Winnipeg, 24 in Prairie Mountain and 10 in Interlake Eastern.  Of the total 61,257 confirmed cases 868 are active, 59,172 people have recovered and 85 are in hospital with 15 in intensive care.  In partnership with the Chief and Council of Mathias Colomb Cree Nation provincial health officials continue to see a trend of concerning case numbers and are working with the community and other partners to address the situation. There are 73 active cases in the Pukatawagan Mathias Colomb Cree Nation district.

             

Saskatchewan health reported 648 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 446.  Of the total 70,457 reported cases 4564 are active, 65,156 people have recovered and 348 are in hospital.  Far North East Two that includes Creighton, Flin Flon Saskatchewan, Denare Beach, Pelican Narrows, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and Sandy Bay reports seven new cases giving them 67 active cases.
