Manitoba Hits a High in Vaccines While Saskatchewan Hits a High in Hospital Admissions.

Manitoba public health reported 95 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 3.6 percent.  Of the new cases 29 are in Southern health and 24 in Winnipeg with lower numbers in other regions including 14 in Northern health where active cases total 211.  Of the total 61,126 reported cases in the province 858 are active, 59,054 people have recovered and 92 are in hospital with 17 in intensive care.  They also report a new level in the vaccine campaign with more than two million doses of the vaccine administered.  The province is offering a third dose for all health care workers who have direct contact with patients or anyone who received only the viral vector vaccines such as Oxford-AstraZennaca.

             

Saskatchewan health reported 478 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 439.  Of the total 69,809 reported cases 4313 are active, 64,763 people have recovered and 356 are in hospital with 76 in intensive care which are the highest numbers since the pandemic began.  Far North East Two reported 16 new cases bringing active cases to 60.
