New Cases are up Again in Manitoba While More Vaccinations Are Needed in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 114 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to three percent. Of the new cases 44 are in Southern health, 25 in Winnipeg and 21 in Northern health where there are 108 active cases with lower numbers in other regions.  Of the total 60,443 reported cases 668 are active, 58,564 people have recovered and 86 are in hospital with 20 in intensive care.

             

Saskatchewan health reported 394 new cases bringing the seven day average of new cases to 467. Dr. Saqib Shahab says more people need to get vaccinated. He notes this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated and it’s burning through networks of friends and families who are primarily unvaccinated and it’s spilling over into schools as well primarily from households that have unvaccinated members in the households.

              Far North East Two reported 19 new cases bringing active cases to 94.
