New Case Numbers Are Lower in Manitoba While Proof of Vaccination is Coming to Saskatchewan.

Manitoba public health reported 42 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon bringing the five day test positivity rate to 2.8 percent.  Of the new cases 17 were in the Southern health region and 16 in Winnipeg with lower numbers in other regions including three in the Northern region where there are 87 active cases.  Of the total 60,333 reported cases in the province 613 are active, 58,509 people have recovered and 82 are in hospital with 19 in intensive care.

             

Saskatchewan health reported 3303 new cases from September 22nd to 28th bringing the seven day average of new cases to 472.  3284 recoveries were reported over the same time and 311 people are in hospital with 65 in intensive care. 240 of the people in hospital are not fully vaccinated.  Effective Friday proof of vaccination or a negative test result will be required in Saskatchewan for public access to a range of businesses, event venues as well as for all government of Saskatchewan ministry, crown and agency employees.
