Flin Flon Womens Safe Haven Resource Centre Continues to Support Women and Children in our Community and Surrounding Areas.

At their 23rd annual meeting last night Executive Director Laurie Sealey reported this past year we have seen a lot of changes in the world around us.  She noted they host many events like Take Back the Night, Candle Light Vigil, REDress, International Women’s Week and Christmas Craft Sale that they are looking forward to getting back to and being able to bring people back together and encourage each other in these uncertain times.

Sealey thanked the dedicated group of individuals holding positions on their Board and their dedicated and hard working staff adding the kindness of the community shines through in the help they receive. She added as an organization that relies on the help of fundraising to offset the cost of running a shelter and interim housing they will be posting and advertising some new fund raiser ideas in the near future and also welcome volunteers who are willing to give of their time.

They filled five positions on their board with Katie Kawerksi for three years and one year terms for Jodi Pawlachuk, Amanda Fleury, Lisa Leutshaft and Sophia Charuk.
