Nearly 84 percent of all new cases and hospitalizations in Saskatchewan in August were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people. Of the 4596 cases reported in August 3840 were unvaccinated or tested positive within three weeks of receiving their first vaccination, 424 cases were partially vaccinated and 756 were fully vaccinated with 133 of those having co morbid conditions. They advise all residents who are eligible for immunization need to receive both doses as soon as possible.
They report there were 2452 new cases of COVID-19 from September 1st to 7th bringing the seven day average of new cases to 350. They also reported ten new deaths. 1481 recoveries were reported over the same period. The total reported cases in the province are now at 56,838 with 154 people in hospital and 29 in intensive care.
