Full Vaccination Rules Are Coming Into Effect in Manitoba.

Manitoba public health reported 127 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified since Monday bringing the five day test positivity rate to 2.4 percent.  Of the 36 new cases identified today 24 individuals were not fully vaccinated. 15 of the cases were in the Winnipeg region with single digits in other regions including nine in the Northern region eight of which were not fully vaccinated.

Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin reminds residents of places that will require full vaccination effective tomorrow including indoor and outdoor sporting events and concerts, indoor theatre dance symphony events, restaurants both for indoor and outdoor dining, night clubs and all other licensed premises, casinos, bingo halls, VLT lounges, movie theatres, fitness centres, gyms, indoor sporting and recreation facilities excluding youth recreational sports, organized indoor group recreational classes and activities. This will also apply to museums and galleries effective September 7th as will dropping the number of people allowed at outdoor gatherings to 500.

Roussin noted this is being done to prevent the need to close doors and lay off staff again as the statistics show the Delta variant continues to be a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
