Recoveries in Manitoba Have Topped 57 Thousand While Saskatchewan Will Conduct Self-Testing for Some Students.

Manitoba public health reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon keeping the five day test positivity rate at three percent. Of the new cases 13 were in Winnipeg and 11 in Southern health with single digits in other regions including three in Northern health.  Of the total 58,710 reported cases 483 are active, 57,038 people have recovered and 63 are in hospital with 18 in intensive care.

             

Saskatchewan health will launch a pilot program in a small selection of schools to provide COVID-19 self-testing rapid antigen kits to families with students under age 12.  The 24 schools in the pilot will be determined in consultation with the school division and Medical Health Officers.

             

They reported 1567 new cases of COVID-19 from August 25th to 31st bringing the seven day average of new cases to 248.  997 recoveries were also reported along with eleven new deaths. As of today there are 130 people in hospital 97 of which are not fully vaccinated and 30 are in intensive care. Far North East Two reports 15 new cases with a total of 82 active cases.
