Masks and Full Immunization Are Part of New Public Health Orders.

Manitoba Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin has announced the COVID-19 Delta variant has changed things and we must protect the nearly 230 thousand children who are not yet eligible for immunization.  He says effective tomorrow masks are required in all indoor public spaces including schools.  He also announced new requirements for people to be fully immunized to attend certain events and activities effective September 3rd including indoor and outdoor ticketed sporting events and concerts, indoor theatre dance and symphony events, restaurants both indoor and patio dining, nightclubs and other licensed premises, casinos bingo halls and VLT lounges, movie theatres, fitness centres gyms and indoor sporting and recreations facilities excluding youth recreations sport and organized indoor group recreational classes and activities and indoor recreational businesses noting children 11 and under who have not been immunized will be able to attend events and activities with fully immunized adults.

             

Roussin added we are now experiencing a pandemic of the non immunized and this will help encourage greater vaccine uptake to avoid further lockdowns and pressure on our health care system.
