The Town of Creighton received confirmation last month that their application for a Northern Capital Grant has been approved. The grant is for 36 thousand dollars and will be used to purchase an air compressor for the Fire Department. Council also approved a request from the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce for a donation towards their annual radio auction which will take place October 23rd broadcast on CFAR. The auction is the largest fundraiser that the Chamber does on behalf of the business community. The Town of Creighton will be donating two family skate passes for the auction. Council also agreed to donate 250 dollars to the Keewatin Community Development Association and Northland College supporting CORE Days which are held in La Ronge October 18 to 20th.
Mayor Bruce Fidler will bring the Town’s greetings this Saturday afternoon at Rotary Park as part of the opening ceremonies for the National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration.
