The Salvation Army Has Received Support for their Local Programs.

CFAR Manager Dianne Russell and Sales Rep Raphael Saray presented a cheque for two thousand dollars yesterday to Salvation Army Lieutenants Mark and Kelsie Burford and volunteer Mike Vancoughnett.  Russell noted the money was raised through CFAR’s 100 Grand in Your Hand Radio Contest which ran through the summer.  Lieutenant Mark stated they were very grateful when Dianne called them to let them know that she had organized a fund raiser for the Soup Days Lunch Break Programs that the Salvation Army does and he and his wife were blown out of the water really.  He noted they had just arrived and they already got a call saying that the community wants to donate and give back to those less fortunate so it’s going to a good cause and they’re excited to put this money into action.

Russell added the money was collected through sponsorship for the contest to support a needed area in our community with major sponsorship from Hudbay and North of 53 Co-op and collective sponsorship from over 25 local businesses.
