Funding under the Regional Air Transportation Initiative will be coming to Flin Flon and Thompson to enable the airports to overcome challenges that were brought on by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The City of Flin Flon will receive just over 527 thousand dollars and the Thompson Regional Airport Authority just under 583 thousand.  Funding of 335 thousand dollars for The Pas Airport was announced earlier this month.

It was noted regional air transportation is key to the economic development of communities and businesses since it helps draw Canadians to rural and remote communities to work and raise their families while also providing reliable connectivity with urban centres.
