Hudbay President Peter Kukielski has announced gold production has commenced at the New Britannia mill in Snow Lake.  He explained refurbishment activities at the gold mill were completed in June followed by commissioning and startup activities in July.  The mill achieved first gold production this past Wednesday ahead of the original schedule to produce first gold before the end of this year marking the beginning of the transition of the Lalor Mine to a primary gold operation. Kukielski also reported the company is completing construction of a new copper flotation facility at New Britannia which remains on track for commissioning and ramp up in the fourth quarter of this year. He noted after the successful ramp up of the high grade Pampacancha deposit their Peru operations achieved record gold production in the second quarter and are on track for higher copper and gold production in 2022.  He says they expect to see increased cash flows from these higher return investments beginning in the second half of this year.
