In releasing Hudbays second quarter 2021 financial report President Peter Kukielski updated their operations in the Snow Lake area. He says that includes completing the  copper flotation circuit before the end of the year, continue their work on executing the third phase of their Snow Lake gold strategy including the preparation to ramp up to 53 hundred tonnes per day at Lalor, the recovery improvement program at the Stall Mill and they’ll also continue their exploration program in the Chisel Basin.

Kukielski also reported refurbishments at the New Britannia gold mill were completed in June and commissioning and startup activities occurred in July with the mill expected to achieve first gold production this month. In their 2021 winter drill program in the Chisel Basin the copper gold rich feeder of the 1901 deposit was discovered and high grade zinc and gold mineralization was confirmed through infill and extension drilling. Hudbay`s summer program includes surface mapping and ground geophysics to identify both base metal and gold targets as well as a follow up limited drill program on a new target identified immediately north of the Lalor mine from a borehole survey completed in February.
