Take Precautions to Protect Yourself From Wildfire Smoke.

The Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Northern Health Region Dr. Michael Isaac has advice on wildfire smoke safety.  If you’re in your car you can keep your windows closed and set the ventilation system to recirculate to limit the amount of outdoor smoke coming in as well.  If you have family members that are sensitive to the effects of smoke keep an eye on them to make sure they are okay and for those individuals out there who have medication for lung conditions like asthma, bronchitis or COPD make sure that you’re taking your medication as prescribed.

Isaac adds at home keep your windows and doors closed as long as the temperature is comfortable and set your heating and cooling system on recirculation so you’re not bringing in too much outside air.
