Flin Flon City Council Continues to Work at Improvements to the Community.

After recently launching their paving and sidewalks project and receiving federal and provincial funding for a new Aqua Centre Council is now looking at a water and sewer upgrade project.  At their meeting last night council approved their request for financial assistance from the Manitoba Water Services Board to conduct water and sewer upgrades.  The cost sharing project would deal with issues in the Aspen Grove area to prevent back flow into basements which has been an ongoing problem.

Mayor Cal Huntley reminds you it has been very hot and dry so the fire ban remains in effect in the Flin Flon area.  Councillor Tim Babcock advised follow the warnings about all terrain vehicles as bush areas are extremely dry.  If you go into the bush you need a permit.  Mayor Huntley added if you travel make sure all your routes are clear before leaving.  He noted seek reliable information on fires and if a legitimate risk should develop to our community notices will go out from the City. The City’s emergency response plan is reviewed with those responsible on  regular basis.
